Check-in and check-out
Times, procedures, and early check-in or late check-out requests.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
These are set by the host, so they vary from home to home. You will find the times for your home on the listing page in the booking policies section.

Can I have an early check-in or late check-out?
Our hosts will always try to be flexible with early check-in or late check-out, but it depends on availability. For example, if another guest is checking out that morning, the host needs time to clean and complete the changeover, so an early check-in may not be possible. Because availability can change, hosts usually cannot confirm this until a day or two before arrival. If you want to guarantee it, you will need to book the night before or after in addition.
If you are happy to take the chance, we recommend noting your preferred check-in and check-out times on your booking so the host has that information and can advise on the likelihood and any applicable charge. You can also contact the host at any time to discuss options.
How do I get my check-in details?
Check-in is arranged directly with your host, whose contact details are on your confirmation email along with the exact address of the property.
- Most hosts will meet you at the property at the agreed time to show you around and answer any questions.
- In other cases, there may be a keypad or lockbox. This is usually stated in the check-in instructions.
If you would like to discuss the check-in arrangements before you book, please contact the host.
Can I check in after hours?
Our hosts are used to accommodating check-ins at all times, especially for guests flying in internationally. Hosts will usually ask for your flight or arrival details and plan the check-in around them.
Some hosts charge an additional fee for check-in after a certain time. Any such fee is listed in the details or house rules on the listing.
What is the check-out procedure?
The check-out procedure is handled by the host, so it varies depending on where you are staying. Some hosts will meet you at the property at a pre-agreed time to collect the keys and carry out an inspection. Others will simply tell you where to leave the keys.
If there is any damage at the home, the host must make a claim within 48 hours of check-out. Stay Luxe acts as an intermediary between you and the host, so nothing will be charged from the security deposit until the damage is proven and agreed by all parties.
If you would like to discuss the check-out process in more detail before you book, please contact the host.
What should I do if something is not as expected when I check in?
If something is not as you expected, contact your host within 24 hours of check-in to report any difference between the listing and what has been provided.
We are always on hand to act as an intermediary when needed, so if you would like us to step in, please contact the Stay Luxe stay advisor.
